Q. Why should I get a professional film made of my wedding?

The wedding film should never be seen as a replacement for the traditional wedding photographs, however, a wedding film will give you something that photographs will not. A wedding film gives a true reflection of your special day. A professional wedding film company will be able to capture the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the day without intruding on the event itself. Therefore, a wedding film will offer the perfect accompaniment to the official wedding photographs.

Q. Why can’t my friends or relatives capture the day on Mini DV or camcorder?

For the same reasons that you would not ask your friends or relatives to be the official wedding photographer. Of course, if Uncle Harry wants to film the day that is quite acceptable and we can even include footage that is taken by guests at the wedding if it is submitted in time for the edit. Remember that your guests will want to enjoy your wedding as much as you do and giving them the task of capturing the whole day on film may well end up stressing them out.

Q. How do you make sure that the film will be top quality?

Vivid Memories use Sony HVR Z1E Camcorders This compact camcorder features digital 3 chip technology which means that the picture quality will be significantly better than that produced by a standard Mini DV or camcorder. The size of the camcorders means that they can be easily carried and remain unobtrusive on the day. The Sony HVR Z1E is the perfect camera for the job.

We can also use external microphones providing digital sound to make sure that there is none of the hiss and background noise associated with some inferior wedding DVD products.

Q. Why do Vivid Memories use two cameras as this will obviously push the cost up?

When you are watching television or a film it is common to cut to and from different camera angles. Your wedding film is no different because watching a single shot from a fixed camera position soon becomes very dull indeed! Your Vivid Memories wedding film will cut from shot to shot like a professional movie which helps to give a real sense of the occasion. We also use two cameras to make sure that we capture all of the events of the day. Our camera men cannot be in two places at once so one can be operating the fixed camera whilst the other is capturing the other little moments you won’t want to forget.

Q. When will we receive our finished DVD?

Your DVD will normally be ready within sixty days of the wedding event. Any requests for a quicker turnaround will be considered and discussed during the consultation period. During busy periods, there may be a longer wait to get your DVD, but we will never rush the process or deliver anything less than the best we possibly can.

Q. Under what circumstances can we request a re-edit?

At Vivid Memories are proud of our films but sometimes even we miss some details or maybe put something in that you’d rather not see again! With this in mind, our top packages give the opportunity for you to order a re-edit and, with precise instruction, we can produce exactly what you want. We would ask that any re-edit requests are for genuine reasons but you need not pay the balance of the fee until you are 110% happy with the results. We will also try and include any footage shot by your friends and relatives, but of course they will most likely not be using the same equipment as us so this footage will not be of the same quality as that shot by our cameramen. You will notice the difference!

Q. How can we or our family and friends re-order copies of the DVD after the wedding?

We know that you will love your wedding film and that the DVDs included in each package may not be enough to go around. If you or your family and friends wish to order more copies of the DVD then print and fill in the DVD re-order form HERE and send it with the correct payment to the address on the bottom of the form.
